Manchester City beat Villa to return to winning ways

City bounced back from their midweek defeat at Arsenal by beating Aston Villa 4-2 at Villa Park.

Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland gave City a 2-0 lead at half-time, but goals from Leon Bailey and Jacob Ramsey drew Villa level. City were reduced to 10 men when Sergio Gomez was sent off for a second yellow card just after the hour mark, but they regained the lead through Riyad Mahrez. Mahrez then added a fourth in the closing stages to seal the victory.

The win puts City back in second place in the Premier League, one point behind leaders Arsenal.
